4 GB SD Memory Card Review Site

Hello and welcome to my 4GB SD Memory Card Review site. In recent years, the choices faced by consumers has increased dramatically and even buying a simple product such as a memory card has become a complicated process that can involve evaluating up to 50 products to ensure the right decision has been made.

The reason that this website focused on the SD memory cards, as opposed to XD or Sony’s memory disk is it’s popularity.  They are not only commonly found in digital cameras and camcorders, but are often found in laptops, PDA’s, mobile phones, computer consoles and MP3/MP4 players.

However, there main use is the digital camera and as of 2009 all the major digital camera manufactures including Samsung, Pentax, Casio, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Kodak use SD memory in their product lines. The only major exceptions to that list are Sony and Olympus, who so far have stuck with their own memory format ‘Memory Stick’ (Sony) and XD (Olympus).

Fortunately for the consumer, the price of memory cards had dropped significantly in recent years making it cheaper to purchase larger sizes for less and hence the focus of this website on 4GB SD memory cards. A 4GB memory card enables users  with a 8 MP to take around 1,600 pictures. This gives the users such flexibility on vacations where only 1 card is required for a whole trip; this couple in price has driven demand and production through the roof leaving the consumer with a difficult decision to make when buying a 4 GB SD memory card.
